Artifacts (2024)

Artifacts is a series of graphite drawings that examine the latent visibility of petroleum as a structuring force within contemporary material and technological life. The series approaches oil not simply as a resource, but as a sentient residue—an embedded intelligence that shapes experience while remaining largely unseen. Tracing petroleum from its speculative cosmic origins to its entanglement with consumer objects, infrastructures, and industrial remains, the work treats these elements not as representations, but as residues—sites of estranged perception and deferred recognition.
